This 60-second TV spot is aimed at older adults in the Hmong community, the "helpers", those who are in a position to recognize warning signs and offer support to a person they are concerned about. The spot displays images of individuals seemingly distraught and
"helpers" share their thoughts about how to recognize peculiar behavior as warning signs for suicidal thoughts. As part of a partnership with the Hmong National Development, Inc. a 60 second TV and a 60 second radio spot were created to air in Hmong radio and TV stations in addition to distribution of the newly created Hmong suicide prevention outreach materials. Hmong TV Network is a local television station located in Fresno, CA. Viewers in Mariposa, Merced, Madera, Fresno, and Tulare counties can access the broadcast on Channel 32.6. For Northern and Southern California and out of state and worldwide viewers, they can access this channel through the Roku box and live streaming through www.hmongtvnetwork.com.
